Strength and Endurance

More great words from Robert McKethan!

Greenway Family,
In the best of times, living the Christian life requires strength and endurance…strength and endurance to stay focused on our Lord and Savior.    We’re all faced with issues with relationships, work responsibilities, caring for family members, making financial or retirement decisions, sickness, the loss of loved ones…and the list goes on.  On top of these everyday stressors, we’re now facing a once in a lifetime world health crisis. With all that is going it is so easy to be overwhelmed and fall into despair. As I contemplate our responsibilities and current world events, I also think about how best to cope.  This brings to mind the words of the prophet Isaiah (Chapter 40):
28 Do you not know?  Have you not heard?  The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.  He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.  29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
The hymn Be Strong and Take Courage (Don Moen) echoes the promises found in Isaiah’s words.  Take a moment read the words found in Isaiah 40:28-31 and listen to Be Strong and Take Courage…you’ll be uplifted!
Your brother, Robert
