We may be torn away in person, but we are still united as the Body of Christ! Please join us in worship this week, using the music provided by our Praise Team. The songs are Same Power, It Is Well With My Soul, and an excellent new song that our team learned called Good Grace, which reminds us that our help comes from the Lord, through salvation by the blood Jesus Christ. Words to the songs are provided if you wish to sing along. Please also check out Pastor Darrell's sermon "Torn Away - In Person, Not In Heart" as we continue our study of 1 Thessalonians.
Since early March, our Sunday worship experience has transitioned from the Greenway sanctuary to our homes. Although I miss seeing my Greenway brothers and sisters, I do know that, in the not too distant future, we’ll again gather to worship at Greenway. As I think about worship in the home setting, my thoughts turn to our brothers and sisters who secretly worship in their homes around the world. Many of our international brothers and sisters worship in their homes because of the very real threat of violent persecution. Unlike us, they do not know when, if ever, they will be able to publicly worship our Lord and Savior. As I worship in my home, my thoughts and prayers gravitate to my international brothers and sisters in the persecuted church. Matthew 5:10 - Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Thank you to Robert McKethan for this contribution!
From Christy Smith: Hello, Greenway Church Family! One of the good things that has come out of our family’s quarantine is the return of regular family meals. I’m spending more time cooking and have a new appreciation for the variety of foods that God has made. He has put so much detail and care into creating the things we eat. Can you even fathom how much more infinite detail and care He put into creating us, His beloved children? The Bible tells us that we should be anxious for nothing, that He has already taken care of all our needs. Our Creator will sustain us in every way, including gifts of farm fresh eggs, tiny tomatoes, and juicy apples. What things are you thankful for today? Blessings, Christy Smith “Therefore do not be anxious, saying ‘What shall we eat?’ or “What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousne
Hello Everyone - One of the things I enjoy most as your Worship Director is the opportunity to play for you. I am always humbled when I hear folks say that they are able to worship, reflect, and connect with God through the music. I know that for many, music can be one of the best ways to experience God and to worship Him. I am sharing below a few recordings that I did several years ago of some of my favorite hymns. I hope to be able to make some new recordings to share soon, but in the meantime, I hope these may be a blessing to you. Don't forget to check back regularly on this blog, as we are adding lots of new content throughout the week! In Christ, Justin CLICK HERE to listen to the music.
